Simple and beginner friendly crochet scarf pattern that can be done in less than 3 hours.
I started crochet with a simple small beginner friendly pattern of a market bag. I was so proud with it and it encouraged me to learn more about crochet. The more I learned the more addictive it became, so a few months passed and now I am making crochet jumpers, blouse, cardigans, many creative projects.
So, here's a crochet pattern for my lovely crocheters who wish to crochet a beginner project or for other lovely crocheters who just want to, simply, crochet another project.

SIZE
7 inches (18cm) width. 11.5 inches (29 cm) length.
GAUGE
23 rows/24 stitches = 10cm/4 inches
MATERIALS
Super Value Knitting Yarn Light Grey & Dark Grey 8/3ply 100g (2 skeins, 1 skein of each colour)
Crochet hook size: G/6 or 4.00mm or any hook size to obtain gauge. Or you can choose to make it bulky using your preferred yarn size.
Stitch marker (optional)
(You may choose your own yarn you prefer)
ABRREVIATIONS
ch=chain
st, sts= stitch, stitches
sc= single crochet
ch sp= chain sp
dc= double crochet
sl st= slip stitch
rep= repeat
beg= beginning
INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions are written using USA crochet terms. Ch 40 + 1 Row 1: sc in second ch from hook, *ch 1, skip ch, sc in next ch, skip ch, ch 1 in next ch*, rep from * * to end of row. Turn. Rows 2-21: ch 2. Rep row 1 for 20 rows. Rows 22-25: ch 6. Dc in 4th stitch. *ch 3, skip 3 sts, dc in next st*. rep ** to end of row. Turn. Row 26: *ch 2, sc in first st. ch 1, sc in ch sp, ch 1, sc in dc st*. Rep from * * to end of row. Turn. Rows 27-46: rep rows 2-21. Turn Rows 47-50: rep rows 22-25. (Repeat rows to your desired length of scarf and fasten off). Attach contrast colour to hook and sc around border of scarf 2-3 rows. Block scarf once finished or iron.
